NIMBLE is delighted to announce that Prof. Dr. Morton J. Kern, MD, a leading clinician in interventional cardiology, has joined our Medical Advisory Board. His expertise will play a pivotal role in guiding our clinical strategy, particularly as we prepare for entry into the US market and pursue FDA approval.
Background:
Dr. Kern is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine in the Division of Cardiology. He is also Chief of Cardiology at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Dr Kern received his medical degree and completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, and followed that with a fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. Before joining the University of California, Irvine, in 2006, Dr. Kern was a professor of medicine at St. Louis University, where he was also director of the J.G. Mudd Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Dr. Kern has authored several major textbooks, one of which is the leading book on the subject, entitled “Kern’s Cardiac Catheterization Handbook” now in its 7th edition and its companion “The Interventional Cardiac Cath Handbook, 4th ed”. These books are among the most widely used textbooks both nationally and internationally to train physicians in Interventional Cardiology. In addition, he is an Editorial Board member of US Cardiology Review.
Relevance:
Validating new diagnostics cardiovascular technologies, like our WAEVE System, requires rigorous comparison with established gold-standard tools in the catheterization lab, such as angiography. Kern’s unparalleled experience in catheter angiography ensures that NIMBLE’s approach will be benchmarked against the highest clinical standards.
His guidance will also be essential as we navigate the regulatory pathway for FDA approval and position our technology for successful adoption in the US market, where clinical evidence and expert endorsement are key drivers of trust and acceptance.
